Isn't Volvo the only company still offering an I-5?
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:11 |

you can still find leftover MK6 golfs with the 5-pot, I think.
also, TTRS is a 5-pot
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:26 |

The TTRS stopped being sold a while ago I thought? It doesn't show up on their website.

welp... nevermind then...
gonna go cry some more over the death of my favorite engine
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:35 |

It's okay, my favorite engine died about 6 years ago (I think). Yours is just now being phased out.
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:36 |

yeah...
what was your favorite?
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:37 |
|
GM 3800 V6!
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:39 |
|
fair enough...
but what about the 300hp 3.6 V6?
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:40 |
|
Oh fuck yeah I love you bruh!
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:41 |

That's a great engine, but it hasn't been proven yet how long it will last. Plus it isn't nearly as torquey.
Not to mention, OHV FTW
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:42 |
|
you rock a 5-cylinder then? :D
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:45 |

My parents car is an inline with one too many cylinders (BMW E46 3 series, manual, I have a learner's permit thing going on right now), but I always loved the Audi Quattro S1, so my love for the I5 just grew with it.
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:49 |

dude, learners permit as well!
I have taken my mom's jetta (with the right number of cylinders and a manual) out for a few joyrides, just to give the 2.5 some exercise
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:50 |

Aw yeeeee son! That's awesome, are you 16, 17?
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:52 |
|
15, actually
turning 16 in 34 days!
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:54 |

Where can you start your license and stuff at that age? I got my first at 16, getting my second one (barely any different from a normal license though) at the end of this month, after the 10 months required in between the two.

The last Buick engine. Sad indeed that it is gone.
![]() 06/06/2014 at 23:56 |

Washington state FTW!
got my permit last august, but only because they let you if you're doing Driver's ed. full license on 16th Birthday. Can't wait!

Aw that's awesome, SPREAD THE LOVE!!!!
![]() 06/07/2014 at 00:04 |
|
I thought you could get a permit at 5 everywhere BTW...
what state are you from?
![]() 06/07/2014 at 00:06 |
|
Now they're all universal engines. Not one companies.
![]() 06/07/2014 at 00:06 |

The state of Toronto Canada eh!1 Yeah everythings a pain in the ass over here, but we do have that 15 year import law.... (someday it will hopefully be taken advantage of).
What do you think of V10s? I love the sound of those and it gave me the idea of a W15, hich I now desperately want someone to make lol.
![]() 06/07/2014 at 00:10 |

v10's are cool, especially when they're loud!
![]() 06/07/2014 at 00:12 |
|
Yes, indeed.

Depressing
Although with the modern engines (4 and 6 cyl) from GM, Opel engineers have done a lot of the work. Especially the EcoTec line. V8s were done here (no surprise).

Ahh the Inline 5, lots of good memories...
